The tauk noska is a gül built around stylized animal figures, usually read as birds or four-legged creatures set inside the quartered medallion. The name is often glossed as hen's foot or animal track.
Unlike a gül that belongs to a single tribe, the tauk noska is a shared motif, woven by several Turkmen groups including the Ersari and the Yomut. It is one of the older Turkmen design families, a reminder that some patterns moved between tribes rather than marking them apart.
