The terms for using Kalben Rugs and buying from us: digital patterns and finished rugs and kilims, prices, delivery, refunds and acceptable use.
These terms apply to your use of Kalben Rugs and to anything you buy from us, whether a digital rug pattern or a finished rug or kilim. Please read them together with our Pattern License and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or place an order.
Kalben Rugs is operated by Kalben Rugs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. It is a family business in the Ersari Turkmen weaving tradition, run day to day from Türkiye, with relatives who weave in northern Afghanistan.

We sell two things: digital rug patterns (the weaving cartoon, or nakış, and its color sheet) and finished, hand-woven rugs and kilims. Listing details such as size, knot quality and color count are given in good faith and are as accurate as we can make them. Because the rugs are made by hand, small irregularities and the gentle color shifts called abrash are normal and are not defects. Screen colors may also differ slightly from the real piece or the supplied palette sheet.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Checkout is handled securely through our payment provider, and the pattern files are delivered as a digital download right after payment. An order becomes a contract once your payment is completed. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is no longer available or a price was listed in error, and in that case we will not charge you, or we will refund any payment already taken.
Patterns are delivered electronically as a download; nothing is shipped. What you may and may not do with a pattern is set out in the Pattern License. In short, you may weave and sell unlimited rugs from it, but you may not resell, share or redistribute the file itself, or use it to train an AI model. The design, the cartoon and their copyright remain with us and the weaving family who created them.
A finished rug or kilim is a physical item and is shipped to you. Availability, delivery time, shipping cost and any import duties or taxes are confirmed when you order. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. As each piece is woven by hand, the rug you receive may vary slightly from the photographs.
Because digital patterns are delivered on download, sales are final once the file has been downloaded, except where a file is defective or will not open, in which case we will fix or replace it. For a physical rug or kilim, contact us and we will handle it case by case. The natural variation of a handmade rug is not, by itself, a fault.
You agree not to resell, share, publish or redistribute the digital files, not to use them to train any machine-learning or AI model, and not to misuse the site or try to reach protected delivery files without a valid purchase. The full pattern terms are in the License.
We provide the site and our products with reasonable care and as described. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded by law.
We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
