A flattened, horizontal gül with elongated wings, used especially by the Yomut, that interlocks into a complex pattern when repeated.
The kepse is a flattened, wing-like gül most associated with the Yomut. On its own it reads almost like a stretched hexagon; its real character only appears once it is repeated, because each kepse locks into its neighbors to build a dense, continuous lattice across the field.
Like the dyrnak, it is one of the alternating Yomut medallions, and the two together are a quick way to tell Yomut weaving from the single-gül discipline of the Tekke.
